Green Gecko Gardens recently transformed a residential backyard in Swanson into a lush, low-maintenance tropical garden designed to enhance outdoor living and create a more inviting home environment.

The focus of this project was to introduce structure, colour, and texture through carefully selected planting, while keeping ongoing maintenance simple for the homeowners.

Project Overview

The existing backyard lacked structure and planting definition, offering limited visual appeal or usability.

We began by clearing the space and removing unwanted stumps to prepare a clean base for redevelopment.

A selection of tropical plants was then chosen to suit the property conditions, budget, and desired low-maintenance outcome. Planting was carefully spaced to allow for healthy growth and long-term visual balance.

We installed weed mat beneath the planting areas to reduce future maintenance and support long-term garden cleanliness.

The garden beds were finished with a quality mulch layer, improving soil health, moisture retention, and overall presentation.
